Summary

This dream weaves together themes of family reunion, nourishment, and unresolved family dynamics. The presence of your grandmother and father, the mysterious child wearing your childhood dress, and the gathering of extended family members suggest a deep exploration of lineage, inheritance, and the complex relationships within your family structure. The rotten egg and the story book about your parents' divorce indicate unresolved emotional matters requiring attention.

Interpretation

The dream begins with a powerful symbol of family connection and hospitality. Your grandmother requesting more food after finishing her burger represents a deep spiritual hunger or unfulfilled needs within the family lineage. In traditional dream interpretation, feeding elders, especially grandmothers, symbolizes honoring the past and maintaining family bonds. The act of preparing and serving food to family members indicates your role as a caretaker and mediator within the family structure.
(Ibn Sirin, Dreams and Interpretations, Islam)

The appearance of the six-year-old girl wearing your childhood dress is particularly significant. This child, identified as your father's daughter, represents a connection between past and present, between your own childhood and a new generation. The dress symbolizes inherited traits, patterns, or unresolved issues being passed down through generations. In psychological terms, this could represent aspects of your own inner child or unintegrated parts of your family history that need acknowledgment.
(Sigmund Freud — The Interpretation of Dreams, Psychology)

The wall or rooms that you and your husband are building represents the construction of boundaries and new structures within your family system. This is a positive symbol indicating efforts to establish your own family identity while maintaining connections to your extended family. The transition from one house to another (from your space to your mother's house) while continuing the same meal suggests the continuity of family patterns across different settings and relationships.
(Abdulgani al-Nabulusi — Encyclopedia of Dream Interpretation, Islam)

The rotten egg breaking in the pan with bread is a crucial warning symbol. Eggs in dreams traditionally represent children, potential, or new beginnings. A rotten egg indicates something that appears promising on the surface but is corrupted or spoiled within. This could symbolize concerns about family relationships that appear whole but contain hidden problems, or it may represent anxiety about nurturing roles and the fear of providing inadequate care. The need to throw it away suggests the necessity of discarding unhealthy patterns or relationships.
(Ibn Sirin, Dreams and Interpretations, Islam)

The gathering that resembles a wedding celebration, with many people and musicians, represents a significant family event or transition. However, the underlying tension is evident in your father's brother passing without greeting you. This suggests feelings of being overlooked or unacknowledged within the larger family structure. Your direct confrontation of this slight shows your desire for recognition and proper family connection.
(Sigmund Freud — The Interpretation of Dreams, Psychology)

The most revealing element is the story book about your parents' lives before their divorce. This represents the documented history of family pain and separation that continues to influence the present. The lady who knows this story calling your mother "a strong woman" is an acknowledgment of survival and resilience through family difficulties. Your search for a copy of this book indicates a desire to understand your family history and perhaps to make peace with it. The old love song requested represents nostalgia for what was lost and perhaps hope for healing.
(Abdulgani al-Nabulusi — Encyclopedia of Dream Interpretation, Islam)

The cleaning of the living room by extended family and the search for clean towels represents attempts to restore order and purity to family relationships. The stained towels that need replacing symbolize the difficulty of completely cleansing past hurts. Your final search for your son with the speaker suggests your desire to connect the younger generation to this family history through music and story, perhaps to help them understand and heal generational wounds.
(Sigmund Freud — The Interpretation of Dreams, Psychology)
