Summary

This dream reflects your profound grief and longing for your deceased son, combined with hope for spiritual reunion. The praying woman represents divine intercession and faith in resurrection, while seeing your son alive symbolizes both your emotional need for his presence and spiritual comfort that his soul remains connected to you.

Interpretation

The dream of your deceased son returning to life carries deep spiritual significance across multiple traditions. In Islamic dream interpretation, when a deceased person returns to life in a dream, it often signifies relief from distress and the abolishing of fears, particularly when the deceased is a parent or child. The fact that you see your son sleeping peacefully on his bed indicates that he is at rest in the afterlife and that his soul is in a state of tranquility. The emotional happiness you feel upon seeing him alive reflects both your natural longing as a grieving parent and a spiritual message of comfort.
(Ibn Sirin, Dreams and Interpretations, Islam)

The woman praying for your son's return is a powerful symbol of intercession and divine mercy. In Islamic tradition, when you dream of someone performing prayers or supplications for a deceased person, it indicates that the deceased is benefiting from such prayers and that their spiritual state is improving. The specific mention of "two days or two years" suggests that your grief will gradually transform - either you will find peace relatively soon, or over a longer period of healing. The act of prayer in dreams often represents answered supplications and hope fulfilled, though not always in the literal way we imagine.

From a psychological perspective, this recurring dream pattern reveals the natural process of grief and the mind's attempt to process profound loss. Dreams of deceased loved ones returning are extremely common in the first years after death, as the psyche struggles to accept the finality of loss. Your subconscious creates scenarios of reunion as a coping mechanism, allowing you to continue the relationship in the dream realm while gradually accepting the reality in waking life. The woman praying represents your own hope and perhaps your spiritual beliefs providing comfort during this difficult journey.
(Sigmund Freud — The Interpretation of Dreams, Psychology)

In Christian tradition, dreams of deceased loved ones can be understood as messages of comfort from God, assuring you that your son's soul rests in peace. The imagery of prayer and the peaceful sleep suggests that he is in God's care. The Bible teaches that death is but a sleep for believers, awaiting resurrection. Your dream may be a divine consolation, reminding you that separation is temporary and that reunion awaits in eternal life. The woman's prayer could represent the communion of saints - the living praying for the dead and the spiritual connection that transcends physical death.

The traditional Islamic sources you've referenced provide additional insight: seeing a deceased person return to life, especially when they appear healthy and at peace, indicates their good state in the afterlife and can bring relief from the grief and distress of those left behind. The fact that you see your son sleeping rather than active suggests contentment and peace in his current state. Your joy at seeing him alive reflects both your natural parental love and a spiritual truth - that the bond between parent and child transcends physical death.
